GC3: Girls Who Code, Create and Collaborate
Girls ages 9 -14
March 2, 9, 16 @ 4:30 – 6:00 pm
In this three-week course, girls ages 9-14 will build and program LEGO robots using WeDo 2.0 and explore their creativity as well as learn how to program robots using introductory coding. They will collaborate to create their own project for the final class, choosing from a menu of topics to explore and discover. Projects include building a space rover, a prosthetic arm, and a free-choice exploration project.
Examples of learning objectives for week 1:
- Explore actual missions of space rovers and imagine future possibilities.
- Create and program a space rover to achieve a specific task, such as: move in and out of a crater, collect a rock sample, drill a hole in the ground, etc.
- Present and document their prototype and what they could possibly discover by achieving these missions
